Accreditation vs Certification

Product Overview

Kapwell Vent Scrubbers (also known as Liquid knockout drums) are used to make gas flare systems safer and more environmentally friendly by eliminating liquid droplets from the waste gas stream that is sent to the flare. In order to prolong the life of the flare system and prevent burning liquid from departing the flare, droplets of liquid must be eliminated from the waste gas stream prior to entering it.

It is a two-phase separator used to separate liquids from vent gas streams before they are introduced into the flare system through the relief and blow-down lines.

Vent Scrubbers are often employed after gas treatment equipment and are capable of handling a broad variety of flow rates.

Onshore and offshore versions are both available for use in various scenarios.

Applications

Oil and Gas Industry

Oil and Gas Production

Flare scrubbers are commonly used in oil and gas production facilities, both offshore and onshore, to treat and reduce emissions from flares. Flares are used to burn off excess or unwanted gases, such as natural gas, methane, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other pollutants, that are released during various oil and gas production operations. Flare scrubbers are used to remove pollutants from the flue gas stream before it is released to the atmosphere, helping to reduce emissions and minimize the environmental impact of flaring.

Refining and Petrochemical Processing

Refining and Petrochemical Processing

Flare scrubbers are used in refineries and petrochemical processing facilities to treat and reduce emissions from flares that are used to burn off excess or unwanted gases during various processing operations. Flares in refineries and petrochemical plants can release pollutants. Flare scrubbers are used to remove pollutants from the flue gas stream before it is released to the atmosphere, helping to minimize emissions and comply with air pollution control regulations.

Chemical Manufacturing

Chemical Manufacturing

Flare scrubbers are used in chemical manufacturing facilities to treat and reduce emissions from flares that are used to burn off excess or unwanted gases generated during various chemical production operations. Flares in chemical plants can release pollutants such as VOCs, hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), and other harmful gases. Flare scrubbers are used to remove pollutants from the flue gas stream before it is released to the atmosphere, helping to minimize emissions and ensure compliance with air pollution control regulations.

Upstream and Downstream Oil and Gas Operations1

Upstream and Downstream Oil and Gas Operations

Flare scrubbers are also used in other upstream and downstream oil and gas operations, such as gas processing plants, pipelines, storage terminals, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, to treat and reduce emissions from flares. These facilities may use flares to burn off excess or unwanted gases that are generated during various operations, and flare scrubbers are used to remove pollutants from the flue gas stream before it is released to the atmosphere, helping to minimize emissions and protect the environment.
