Product Overview
Kapwell offers years of experience in improving and advancing seperator equipment design to make them more reliable, with modern technologies that perform in all climates and are cost effective. Our equipment are UKCA / CE marked and ATEX certified, and complies with latest applicable ASME, API, DNV, and ABS standards.
The Sand Trap consists of a vertically positioned cyclonic vessel. The Sand Trap is supplied with required Pipe and Instrument fittings are included. The design of the Sand Trap, directs the flow from the wellstream, downwards inside the vessel, at the bottom of the vessel, the sand, solids and heavier substances accumulate, and are drained away or removed by the blowdown system. The lighter substances, such as oil / gas, rise to the top of the vessel and exit via a pipe.

Applications
Oil and Gas Production
Sand Trap are commonly used in oil and gas production facilities, both offshore and onshore, to remove sand and other solid particles from wellhead fluids. This helps to protect downstream equipment, such as pipelines, valves, and processing equipment, from abrasion and erosion caused by sand particles. It also helps to prevent sand accumulation in storage tanks, which can cause operational issues and reduce the quality of crude oil or natural gas.
Sand Control in Artificial Lift Systems
Sand Trap are used in artificial lift systems, such as ESP (Electric Submersible Pump) and PCP (Progressing Cavity Pump) systems, to prevent sand and other solid particles from entering the pump and causing damage. Artificial lift systems are used to enhance oil and gas production from wells with low reservoir pressure, and sand control is critical to prevent pump failure and maintain production rates.
Well Testing
Sand Trap are used during well testing operations to separate and remove sand and other solid particles from wellhead fluids, allowing for accurate measurement and analysis of well production rates and properties. Well testing is a crucial step in evaluating the performance and potential of oil and gas wells, and vertical sand separators help to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
Well Cleanout
Sand Trap are used during well cleanout operations to remove sand and other solid particles that may have accumulated in the wellbore or production tubing. Well cleanout operations are typically performed to restore or enhance well productivity. Vertical sand separators help to prevent sand and solid particles from entering the production system during well cleanout operations, protecting downstream equipment and ensuring smooth wellbore cleanup.
Sand Management in Production Systems
Sand Trap are used in production systems to manage sand and other solid particles that may be produced along with oil and gas. Sand and solid particles can cause severe damage to production equipment, including flowlines, separators, and processing units. Vertical sand separators are used to remove sand and solid particles from production fluids before they reach downstream equipment, preventing equipment damage and ensuring safe and efficient production operations.
