Product Overview
Kapwell mist eliminators are cost-effective, extremely adaptable devices that were developed to eliminate liquid entrainment from gas streams. They efficiently separate droplets ranging in size from 3 to 5 microns while requiring minimal pressure drop. Mesh mist eliminators are manufactured as a bed of knitted mesh that presents a tortuous path and a vast surface area to droplets entrained in the gas stream, facilitating their removal. The mist eliminator mesh is comprised of metal or plastic wire with a typical diameter of 0.006 to 0.011 inches, which has been loosely knitted together to form a cylindrical shape. This tube is flattened to make a two-layer strip that is normally 12 inches wide, and it is then crimped in a diagonal pattern with ridges to finish the product.
Mist eliminators can be used in a wide range of gas/liquid separation applications and can be easily customised to fit various vessel shapes and sizes depending on the application. Standard designs are available for common applications, and they provide high separation efficiency down to droplet sizes as small as 2 microns, with a pressure drop typically less than 2.2 mbar.
