Product Overview

Kapwell mist eliminators are low-cost, extremely adaptable devices that were developed to eliminate liquid entrainment from gas streams. It efficiently separate drops ranging in size from 3 microns to 5 microns while requiring minimal pressure drop. Mesh mist eliminators are manufactured as a bed of knitted mesh that presents a convoluted path and a vast surface area to droplets entrained in the gas stream, preventing them from condensing. The mist eliminators net is comprised of metal or plastic wire with an usual diameter of 0.006 to 0.011 inch, which has been loosely knitted together to form a cylinder-like shape. This tube is flattened to make a two-layer strip that is normally 12 inches wide, and it is then crimped in a diagonal pattern with ridges to finish the product.

It can be utilised for a wide variety of gas/liquid separation applications, and it can be simply customised to fit most vessel shapes and sizes, according to the application. Standard designs are available for common applications, and they provide high separation efficiency down to droplet sizes as tiny as 2 microns, with a pressure drop that is typically less than 2.2 mbar
